A fine French brass two train Capucine Officers clock, circa 1820, by well regarded maker Hastroffer a Lyon who specialised in this type of clock.

The clock is of typical form with doors to the sides and rear, urn finials to the top corners and flanking a polished steel bell, on toupie feet, the enamel dial with Roman numerals and minute marks, steel moon hands, pull repeat and silk-suspension pendulum.

Double rack strike on the hour and two minutes past the hour, single half-hourly strike on a polished bell.

The two eight day two train movement is particularly fine with winding stops on both barrels.

A rare and desirable clock.
