A highly decorative small black Chinoiserie bracket clock, circa 1920, the case profusely decorated in relief with maidens, floral, bird and garden scenes, the swept top with four brass finials and a brass loop handle, on brass ogee feet. The gold dial with Roman numerals is marked Mappin & Webb, London and Paris.
The French brass movement has been serviced by our qualified Horologist.
Excellent overall condition. The case has been cleaned and waxed and shows minor wear commensurate with age.
Mappin & Webb is a jewellery company headquartered in London. They trace their origins back to a silver workshop founded in Sheffield in 1775 by Jonathan Mappin. It now has retail stores in the UK and has held Royal Warrants to British monarchs since 1897.
